Our own team’s in-house expertise comprises design, development, testing, and production. At the same time, we are closely in touch with external researchers in applied materials science in Germany and elsewhere. This places us well to prototype product concepts built with so-far untried production methods.
We can quickly feed back new test results, for continuous product improvement and shorter development cycles. Our unique Scapula fork, for example, was conceived in close cooperation with Formagic, a Cologne-based design specialist.
The initial idea was transformed into detailed CAD drawings, models were CNC-cut, and all tools needed to make it were designed and built in-house to our own standards. Our new-for-2017 Fibula brake is built using resin transfer molding (RTM), a process that improves product tolerancing, consistency, and strength-to-weight, and has less environmental impact than traditional carbon fiber fabrication.
The result is a component that betters in every way its legendary predecessor, at no increase in weight. This no-compromise approach makes THM the marque of choice for bike builders who need the lightest and strongest components.
